In my mind, The Limerent Series started out as a trilogy before taking on a life of its own to tell the story of unmitigated passion, possession, viruses, espionage and Frankenstein-style consequences.

Along the way, characters demanded their own stories. Veronica in Fanning Fireflies is one of those characters.
